Individual Sewage Treatment Systems

Onsite Septic System Cleaning Dayton MNHaving your Septic Tank Pumped Out on a regular basis is one of the best things a Dayton MN homeowner can do to care for an On-site Sewage Treatment System. During a Septic Inspection, CSI Custom Septic, Inc. can evaluate the sewage level inside of the tank to let you know when its time to call in a Sewer Pumping Truck. Our MPCA Certified Septic Inspector can provide you with either a complete Septic Compliance Inspection or an Annual Septic Checkup to identify any potential issues that need further attention. An estimated Septic Tank Pumping Schedule can give you basic guidelines for septic tank cleaning.

Custom Sewage Treatment Systems

Onsite Septic Systems are custom built to suit the needs of each household. They may differ in the number of tanks, size of the drainfield, slope of the land, materials used to construct the system, etc. The amount of wastewater generated by the occupants of the home will also plan an important role in configuring the best Sewage Treatment System for your property. Sewage Tanks must be emptied out when necessary to keep the entire system operating at the optimal best.

Septic Tank Pumping

A Septic Tank contains layers of Scum, Liquid and Sludge. The liquid (effluent) is allowed to flow out of the tank and on to the next treatment area. The other contents build up over time and need to be cleaned out by a Septic Tank Cleaning Truck. The time it takes to accumulate a build up of sludge depends on how much goes into the tank and its ability to break down and process the solid materials.

How Often Should You Pump Septic Tank?

A Septic Tank Inspection can tell you when its time to schedule a visit from a sewage pumper. CSI Custom Septic, Inc. can check the level of Sludge in the bottom of the tank. If the Solid Sludge Layer builds up to a distance of 18” from the septic tank outlet pipe – it should be pumped out. Failure to do so can cause solids to clog up the Drainfield.

The Scum Layer that floats at the top of the septic tank can cause harm to the drain field, pipes and aerobic bacteria inside of the tank. When Floating Scum is about 3” from the outlet pipe – it should be cleaned out by a qualified technician. CSI Custom Septic, Inc. can recommend a pumping company that works in the Dayton MN area.

The general rule is for a Septic Tank to be emptied out about once every 3 years under normal conditions. It may need to be pumped out every 1 year if your home uses a garbage disposal. Things like the number of occupants in a home and the size of the septic tank are big factors in the amount of sewage that builds up inside of your septic tank.
